Congratulations to Mrs. Liza Troutman. She was one of 34 BCSD teachers who won STEAM grants, $2500, from Santee Cooper. Her grant will focus on supporting students in Math.

It's been a busy, fun week in STEAM. The kiddos have completed week 2 of being a mechanical engineer. Their paintbrushes are built and will be tested and evaluated next week. They will actually be painting with them and deciding how they can improve their product. Most of them admitted this was more difficult than they originally thought....they had to use their BRAINS, and they persevered and did an amazing job!! I'm very proud of them all! Some of our classes learned I love you in sign language too! Have a great weekend everyone!

2nd grade students are testing today and tomorrow. Next week, 2nd grade students are testing Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child gets rest and eats breakfast at home or school. 2nd grade students must be in the classroom by 8:25 am. 2nd grade students arriving at 8:30 am or later will sign in at the front office and need to wait in the Library until testing is over. Make up days will be announced later next week. Check with your child's teacher if you have questions. Have a wonderful week!
