Across BCSD, our athletic trainers keep our student athletes healthy and help get them moving again after an injury. For National Athletic Training Month, we want to thank them for the head to toe care they provide our student athletes. #makingapositivedifference

During our annual Support Staff Conference, those who work outside of the classroom were able to learn new skills from other departments around the district. #makingapositivedifference

It is always a great time to get students excited about reading, but this week is extra special because it is Read Across America Week!
Philip Simmons High football players made a special appearance at the elementary school this morning to read aloud with students in the younger grade levels and encourage them to keep reading. The Iron Horses will also visit Cainhoy Elementary and Daniel Island School's classrooms this week.
Grab a book and read!

Our school social workers do a tremendous job supporting our students! The pearls of wisdom they provide to our school communities are invaluable. Be sure to thank a school social worker this week for the difference they make in BCSD! #SSWWeek2024 #makingapositivedifference

Our CTE programs truly make a positive difference out in our community! This morning four former BCSD students - Shelby Miyazaki, Joquise Wright, Eric Huff and Javon Talley - spoke to Berkeley County business and community leaders about how our CTE programs impacted their lives and set them up for success post-graduation.

Showing BCSD's instructional coaches some love this week! Instructional coaches meet up every month to discuss and learn new ways to better support teachers and students at school. When they met up on Monday, instructional coaches participated in a belated Valentine's Day-themed activity where they wrote words of encouragement and gratitude to one another on post-its and stuck them to personalized posters hanging up around the room. Coaches also enjoyed lunch provided by Stratford High's culinary arts students.
Thanks you, instructional coaches, for all that you do!

Surf's up with school breakfast! Did you know next week is National School Breakfast Week? For eating school breakfast, students will be entered to win daily and grand prizes from our child nutrition services team. #makingapositivedifference
