Happy Boosterthon Kick-Off Day! We are pumped for our Chameleons to get excited and ready to help Howe Hall AIMS! As a reminder, we have a school goal of $20,000 for a school wide artist in residence experience that will create a one of a kind Howe Hall AIMS chameleon structure. Today’s Kick-Off will give your students the tools to help us get there!

Due to forecasts for continued severe weather resulting in area power outages, and concerns regarding impacts on roads and facilities throughout the evening, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour weather delay on Wednesday, January 10.
There will be no before school care programs, but after school programs and athletics will resume normal operations on Wednesday.
Bus riders will report to bus stops two hours later than their regularly scheduled time. Information concerning school start times and bell schedules when operating on a 2-hour weather delay is available on the BCSD website here: https://www.bcsdschools.net/o/bcsd/page/school-bell-schedules.
District officials are continuing to work closely with the Berkeley County Emergency Management Department, local power providers, and law enforcement to monitor the weather and potential impact on the county. Officials are also receiving regular updates from the National Weather Service.
As safety and security is our number one priority, all decisions are made with the safety of students, staff, and families in mind.

Let's celebrate our iReady winter reading scores! Congratulations to our Kindergarten Chameleons for having the top scores in the district on iReady Reading!!! We are so proud of our students and teachers!!!! Keep up the good work!!

Today we Decked the Halls of AIMS! We loved seeing everyone's holiday decorations come to life around our school. Tomorrow is holiday pajama day.

We are continuing to spread holiday cheer here at HHA! Today students and staff wore their holiday hair accessory or hat. We can't wait to see what creative holiday décor everyone wears tomorrow!

Yesterday 5th graders went to Patriot's Point and got a behind-the-scenes tour of the U.S.S. Yorktown. They learned about the science behind steam engines and the food chains of an estuary. They also learned about the Yorktown's role in WW2 and got to plan Doolittle's Raid!

Fourth grade had an amazing time at Old Santee Canal Park. We learned about how the Native Americans of SC used plants, animals, and the land in order to survive. We made “No Face Dolls” out of corn husks that serve as a reminder to Native Americans to never think they are better than anyone else. We learned how indigo, a cash crop from SC during the 1700s, was cultivated for its dye. We were able to use some to dye a piece of cloth. We also toured the museum of artifacts from the American Revolution and checked out their wildlife while we were there.

The Howe Hall AIMS PTA is organizing a special holiday luncheon for our hardworking teachers, and we're reaching out to you for a little extra sweetness! We're asking families to share the holiday spirit by dropping off homemade or store-bought cookies, candies, or desserts at the front office on December 20th by 10 AM. Your delicious contributions will be a delightful addition to the holiday luncheon.
Whether it's your grandma's famous gingerbread cookies or your family's favorite candies, every treat will bring joy and warmth to our teachers during this festive season. Thank you and happy holidays to you and your family!

We hope you're have a show-stopping holiday season! To start feeling holly jolly, be sure to check out our Celebrate the Season card at Santee Canal Park.
